After having used my 2 ton car jack for as long as I can remember, I finally decide to upgrade my car jack. I wanted something that was safe, reliable, and easy to handle – basically the best car jack. A friend of mine had recently stumbled upon the GARVEE floor car jack lift and given me quite satisfying reviews. So, I decided to check out one for myself. When I received the GARVEE Floor Low Profile 3 Ton Hydraulic Car Jack, it came in a sturdily packed box, and I was quite impressed when I removed it from the box. The first thing that caught my attention was the heavy-duty steel and aluminum construction. It is a 67.1 lbs car jack and when I first lift it off the box, it was heavy, just the kind I was looking for. Weight definitely signifies durability, and it gave me the confidence that I might have chosen the right heavy-duty car jack. 

This car jack also comes with a manual, which is extremely helpful in understanding the mechanics of the jack, and I highly recommend reading it before you start using it, even if you are a pro. The finish was quite smooth, I even noticed that it had a multilayer powder coating, and a rubber pad was also included. The hydraulic system felt tight and well-engineered. I noticed right away that, as mentioned, it was designed for some serious lifting.

Setup and First Use: Is It Beginner-Friendly?

Before testing out the GARVEE car jack, my advice would be to watch some beginner’s guide to using a car jack, most needed for those using it for the first time. Even though I do have some experience with my 2 ton car jack, even I did check some tutorials. Doing so is essential because you have to understand how to use a car jack. And most importantly, you have to know a safe way to lift a car for repair, else there could be serious injuries, especially if you are new to it. 

Now, the first and foremost and most important rule is – safety. Hence, always use a car jack stand when changing tires, checking brakes, or doing any kind of car maintenance tasks. Never, and I mean NEVER ever, completely just rely on your car floor jack to hold up the car for you. 

Setting it up was easy and quite simple: I attached the handle and checked for the oil level, purged the air, and that was it (check a detailed tutorial on how to use a car jack). The low-profile design of this jack made sliding it under my sedan quite easy. This is quite an advantage for people who struggle with standards jacks not fitting under their cars with low ground clearance.

Real-World Test: Tire Change in My Driveway

Now this was my moment of truth. I positioned the car jack under the car just at the reinforced pinch weld or the lift point, and gave it a few pumps. The Drawbacks: What I Was a Bit Sceptical About? 

In spite of winning major points, there are a few things about the GARVEE 3-Ton Floor Jack which I was sceptical about, but these weren’t major enough for me to not like it at all. Because the downsides were not that major for me, yet it’s something that I decided to talk about.

• Heavy to Handle: Weighing 67.1 lbs, this jack isn’t one that you could just toss around. Hence, in my opinion, not a very portable car jack. But I definitely believe it is the best car jack for a home garage.
  
  
• Value Over Bargain: Even though it’s running at a 27% discount and is priced at $226.99 (down from $314.99), it is not your cheap buy. However, it’s not always about the cheapest tags; sometimes it is about the quality and value it provides you in the long run.

Here are some car jack safety tips that you must follow, no matter which car jack you use.

• Car jacks and stands go hand-in-hand. So, whenever you are using a car jack, make sure to also use a car jack stand for support. Never rely on the jack alone.
