I love changing nail styles on a whim, but that means having to swear off nail salon visits and doing it myself unless I want to go bankrupt.I've taken to using fake nails, and that means having to file each one to the size and shape that I need. It goes so much faster and easier with an electric nail drill. This is the second device that I own from GARVEE (the other one being an HD video earpick) and I can say that this company's quality control is stellar across the board.Charged it once, used it, then I was out of the country for //months// on a vacation. When I got home and fired this baby up, I got a whole set of nails done--and with charge to spare. It's light and easy to use. I especially appreciate how easy it is to change between the drill attachments. They don't hitch or come loose, either. It's made my whole nail routine so much more efficient and hassle free, and it looks good too, so that's a 10/10 from me.
* Amazing customer service!!! *• sent a replacement to replace the defective item! The piece at the top keeps falling out while I’m using the drill, I have carefully twisted it back in place but it will only stay if I’m going one direction. If I change the rotation it will come out.
I had the old as seen on tv version of this type of thing from like 10 years ago. It ran on batteries and was not great. I decided to upgrade and went with this.v I like the gradient color and that it was rechargable. It a nice metal body and has USBC charging it didn't come with sanding bands or a tip for those so I took off a star as I found out that is what I should be using on natural nails I got them separately. Not exactly the products fault but I have seen may others that do come with those type as well as many others so you may be getting less bits. I will be honest I don't know what most of these bits are for I'm just a diy at home manicure type of gal but it did remove the top coat from my gel polish and that's probably what I'm going to end up using it for. I also buffed my nails with it a bit and that went well. It feels nice in the hand doble pressing changes the rotation direction and the plus and minus change the speed easy peasy. The materials seem premium but like I said there are may available on garvee with more bits and if you know what your doing with them you may be better off with one of those.
Nice cordless efile. Does the job of getting my gel and dip powder off my nails. I had a little trouble figuring out how to work the controls. I should probably read the instructions. It came with some really nice bits. Be careful if you are new to efiles, that coarse little white one is sharp.
So far I have used this drill to take off UV Gel polish (i stopped soaking because it takes too long ans dries out my skin), and it is surprisingly powerful for being battery powered. It came charged so I was able to test it right out of the box. I was also very grateful for the included ceramic and disc bits - usually you only get the diamond dust bits. It's even powerful enough to take off my hard gel so I am looking for to that. If you are looking for an affordable drill thats doesn't keep you tangled up in a cord, look no further. My only complaint is it is a little loud, which made me concerned about the balance of the bit, but otherwise, I had no issues.TLDR;Pros: Cordless, powerful enough, reversible speed control buttonsCons: a little loud, not as powerful as more expensive corded drills
It’s one of the nicer at home cordless nail drills. I wish it would spin faster but it is what it is for a cordless nail drill. It’s comfortable to hold. The buttons are easy to press and it comes with a variety of drill inserts. If you need some serious salon power I would suggest a corded nail drill, this one is nice for touch ups. I found that it’s time consuming to take off poly gel nails compared to if I were to use a corded drill.
This nail drill is perfect for using at home. I am so happy that it recharges so I don’t have to fight a cord while using, or remember to get more batteries. It works really well and has quite a few attachments. I got it because I have a toenail that is really thick, and I wanted to be able to keep it down between pedicures, so it doesn’t hit my shoes. This drill was PERFECT. It has enough power to do all of my fingers and toes. It is light and easy to recharge. I am very happy I have it and can keep that toe in check.
I was skeptical about this product working like the ones in the salon. Granted I am not a manicurist whatsoever or have any kind of experience in the field, but I tried this product after I removed polymer nails on my daughter. It is cordless which is always nice and comes with a USB charger to charge it along with a little sac to store all your pieces. I smoothed out her nails and also buffed and polished them and to me it surprisingly worked pretty well! It also comes with a small manual that explains what each piece is designed for so you know which one to use depending on what you are using it for.
Don’t make the mistake I did in believing that this GARVEE’s Cordless Nail Drill was less powerful than other electrically powered nail drills, because I’m here to tell you, not so. The power rotation of this nail drill was equivalent to electric-charged drills, and proved to be so when I attempted to smooth and polish my natural nails a bit too long with the GARVEE drill.I prematurely judged this GARVEE cordless device as less formidable because of the functional rechargeable battery feature. I did damage my natural nail plate/body of my fingernails as evident by the nail surfaces’ bumpy and creviced facade, and managed to produce a few cuts on my cuticles, unpronounced to me, while using this drill – I felt no pain or discomfort while using the drill. Now, let me emphasize, that the resulting damage to my nails was not the fault of the GARVEE nail drill, but a result of my own stupidity in assuming this device was cut-rate and deficient in power. Because I was operating the drill at the lowest speed, I inappropriately used the drill too long on my nails. With that said, the GARVEE Cordless Nail Drill had a nice coloring and design, equivalent in power and performance as electrically powered nail drills, and the ability to adjust the speed of the drill was definitely a bonus. A moderate level of heat was evident while using the drill, and that heat was certainly felt if you mistakenly touched the epidermis around the nail. A not-so-font friendly user’s manual provided some basic explanation on bit usage, but the illustrations on this Garvee’s description page was much more useful. The device was compact and easy to handle and toggling the speeds just took a press of the (+) and (-) buttons; forward and reverse were controlled by pushing the power button, and the drill could not be used while charging.Included in the GARVEE package was a plastic storage container that held 5-bits and 2 smaller plastic storage cases that contained 2 other bits. The drill bits were seamless to install and simply slid into the hole at the top of the device. A velvety drawstring storage bag, large enough to hold the drill and all companion components, was also provided. I would’ve liked the addition of sand bits, but given my initial experience with the GARVEE’s drill, I was probably better off not having them. Never fear, though, the minor damage to my nails will be repaired by routinely applying a cuticle oil followed by a hand cream; an aloe vera gel is a good repair formula, too. I’ll just chalked this up as lesson learned.
