I was a bit skeptical about this machine, to be honest. Being that it is a “fully automatic” espresso and coffee machine for this price had me worried. We have a KitchenAid KF8, which is a $2000 Super Automatic. We were looking for a similar Super Automatic, but much less expensive to haul around in our camper. This one seemed to fit the bill, and I figured that if it was damaged or broke down, I wouldn’t be out a ton of money.I am glad we pulled the trigger, because just as this was supposed to arrive, our KF8 brew unit jammed and it had to be sent in for repair. Ugh.When this one arrived, I was impressed with how well it was packaged and how compact it was. Plenty of foam and styrofoam. I plugged it in and began reading the manual. The manual is in plain English, which is a bonus. I filled the bean hopper and set the grind level to around 4. I then filled the water reservoir and turned it on. I followed the prompts to make the various recipes on the touch display. They were easy and the display is intuitive enough. The noise level is quite a bit louder than our KF8. You certainly aren’t doing this quietly in the morning before everyone is awake. But all the recipes dispensed flawlessly. And they tasted quite good, but not a professional barista kind of taste. They were very acceptable. My only gripe was that the Americano was so small. I found out that all the recipes were dispensing at the standard default minimums for each. In other words, the single shot Espresso dispensed exactly 30 ml of Espresso. The double, exactly 60 ml, etc. But the Americano was only dispensing 150 ml. Ugh. Only a single shot and 120 ml of hot water. Oh boy, I like my Americano to be 2 shots and hot water to the 8 oz mark at least! So I began reading the manual in depth and found that the water and espresso shots can be adjusted! They aren’t locked down. So I began adjusting my levels and was able to get the Americano to my liking if I hit the Americano button, wait for it to brew, then hit it again. It takes a bit longer than my KF8, but it isn’t here, so I have to be content with what I have. This is a great value for about what you might pay for a more expensive Nespresso machine, but you get fresh ground coffee in every cup. And it is far less expensive per cup than buying k-cups or the more expensive Nespresso pods. You only have to buy coffee beans. I am especially impressed with the milk frother. I’d draws milk from a separate reservoir through a silicone hose into the frother and produces a decent froth. No need to hold a cup under a steamer. The cleaning process is super easy, and the small brew unit comes out super easy. Overall, this will make a great coffee machine for camping, or for anyone wanting to break the K-cup or Nespresso cycle. I still can’t wait for my KF8 co come back home, though.

Makes awesome coffees no doubt about it.Only thing it came with a bit of the upper rim of the water tank broken off. The piece fell right out of the box as we opened it up. Broke just above the high water level mark. I glued it back.Just inconvenience to send it back because it travels with me for work at sea.It was very well packaged, may have happened during shipping. Otherwise happy to have this so far on the first day.
