Stouter than expected. Did the job.

This rake was easy to assemble. It's built heavier than I expected, but what I hoped for. It fit my old 1958 John Deere 420 tractor with only 1 tweak. I had to use the tractor's existing pin on the 3 point hitch because the pin with the rake was too large for the holes on the tractor. The tines aren't individual, but are 4 sections, which were easy to assemble. They seem very stout. I immediately put it to use pulling tumbleweeds from an arena area. My soil is sandy, so it worked well. I'm not sure how it would work on hard ground. The only concern I have is the tines aren't very long. I didn't see a dimension for them, so I gambled on it being OK. I cleared roughly a 150 ft x 250 ft area without any issue. I did need to get off the tractor and clear the tumbleweeds out of the tines a few times, but it wasn't too bad. It would have taken hours to do this by hand. I pulled the weeds into a couple windrows and will wait for a good rain to set them on fire. I'm pleasantly surprised by how heavy it is built. I did snag a couple rocks without any issue. I'm glad it worked as well as it did. This would be a real pain to return!! I do wish the tines were longer, but for the price I'm happy with it.
