Garvee Stainless Steel Dual Compartment Trash Can 2 x 8 Gal Kitchen Recycling Bin Grayish-White

Nice trash can for the price!Bought the white, very sleek, no dents, no fingerprints shown. Capacity is perfect for a 1-2 person household.The "ring" to secure the bag/liner is actually just a hole stamped out of the side of the bin 😆 -- so you're supposed to stuff the excess slack into the hole so the bag won't slip. It doesn't work all that great, so I'll probably buy some large rubber bands to hold the bags in.Another feature I wish it had were handles to remove the inner bins, but again, this is half the price of the well known, bougie brand (had one previously, total waste of $$).Lids operate smoothly with dual foot pedals - no need for batteries, sensors, or other bells and whistles (it's a trash can, after all).I appreciate that it's light enough to move around for cleaning behind. My last dual bin (bougie brand ™️) was obnoxiously heavy yet somehow not durable 🤔I use it at the end of a kitchen island with standard 13 gal liners and so far it's great. No regrets yet 🤞

Roomy enough size for both recycling and normal trash for a 2 person household. Bonus charcoal insert in the lid to keep odours out is a plus. (it's not super effective but you can put in your own odour pucks if needed)

So far I am impressed with this can. The build quality is solid, it looks good, and it it was packaged well. I specifically wanted a can I could use for trash and recycling due to limited space. At 8 gallons each, these are a bit smaller than I would like, but I don't have the space for a physically larger bin. With that said, there are two big negatives. First is getting a trash bag that actually fits. This doesn't work with standard 8 gallon bags because those assume a wider and shorter bin. My 13 gallon bags fit but are a bit big, even after tucking the extra in that hole like they instructed. Many others have commented about the bags too, with some suggesting the company should offer it. From what I can tell, GARVEE is one of many Chinese house brands that is common on Garvee. It's a brand, not a company, and this product is probably made and sold under a dozen different brand names. My other complaint is that the bin came encased in styrofoam, another giveaway that's it's just a Chinese-factory brand since they are the only country that seems to still be using environmentally-unfriendly styrofoam.UPDATE: Following someone else's suggestion here in the comments, I picked up Superhuman brand trash bags size "G". They fit perfectly. I was trying to avoid proprietary bags like Superhuman and EKO, but standard bags don't fit right. The way overpriced Superhuman bin is probably made in the same exact Chinese factory, so the bins are probably identical.
