A tool like this isn't for everyone, but it's a serious time saver to have in our kitchen. We grow a lot of our own food. A key aspect to making this work well for us is to prepare our foods "ready to cook" as much as possible.

We primarily use this slicer to make french fries and home frites from our potato harvest. It makes a whole lot of work in slicing potatoes go by in just minutes. The key value is that it's a serious time saver, saving us hours of slicing by hand. From here, we blanch and freeze our prepared potatoes, with the goal of making them last for nearly a year from that point.

In the past, I've gone through enough "cheap" slicers that it was finally time to pay a bit of money for one that will last. This unit seemed to strike a fairly good balance between quality and value, which was well confirmed after the first few uses. I'd argue it's nearly "buy it for life" quality. I'm not worried about this unit breaking on me like I have with some of the smaller units I've had.

The mechanisms for changing the blades are quite easy to figure out. While my wife read the manual, I intuitively assembled the unit without instruction. I was satisfied with the quality of all the parts and pieces, no major issues or weak points were observed. The blades are sharp, so it's important to be careful around them!

One thing to note, I did "think" I was getting a unit with a lever as opposed to a push down plunger type of action. When I noticed this upon receipt, I almost returned it to get what I had intended. I decided to try it out and found I actually prefer the plunger action. While it can be a bit tough to get some stiff foods through the slicers, the plunger does allow "creative" force options that you wouldn't have with a lever. Also, it reduces complexity, meaning less can go wrong. I'd buy this model again, for what that's worth.

I'm sure we'll find many creative uses for this kitchen slicer. Growing a considerable garden offers a lot of opportunities for bulk food preparation and we're always looking for ways to save time. I can easily see this unit being used for diced tomatoes and possibly other things where we want to get fairly small pieces. This was one of the main reasons I purchased the kit with "all" the different blades, a lot more flexibility for not much more money.

Overall, five stars and hope the unit lasts for many, many years to come! Lastly, for reference, the shown potatoes took us about 5 minutes to slice from about 25 potatoes!

Works great and easy to clean. I use the apple slicer for cutting steak fries.

The machine works great for cutting fries! My son can assemble and use it all by himself, and I don’t have to worry about him cutting his fingers. There are still a few features we haven’t tried yet, but I couldn’t wait to share this. Highly recommended to everyone!

I needed to cook a meal for fifty people and I wasn't looking forward to chopping so many onions, so I got a machine to do the job. And it was the right way to go. I looked at some of the cheaper plastic options, but they seemed too flimsy. I needed something bigger and sturdier.

This chopper did a great job. It chopped the onions quickly and efficiently. And cleaning it was a breeze.

I had to make a large amount of fries for a big group. Was I surprised at how easy and fast this was. It was so much fun I wanted to keep doing more !!!!! 😉🙂. Price is so worth it. It is made really well and very sturdy !! I’m sure I will have this for A LONG TIME !! The first potato I thought it was a little hard, but the second on were so fast and easy. Watch YouTube and it will be a breeze. I had 2 men trying to figure it out without instructions , then I watched YouTube and they had it on wrong 😂😂😂😂. So much for men know everything !! 😂😂. I have used the fries so far. I really want to try the apple one. I want to see what else I can use it for. If any of you come up with any ideas could you please share them with us. I scrubbed my potatoes and didn’t peel them, I like the skin . I wonder if this could be used to cut fresh pineapple after you cut off the outside That will probably be one of my things to do ?!?!?!😜.

Works well. Takes a good amount of time to take a part and clean. I only use it when I have a lot of veggies that need to be cut. For a small amount of veggies the cleaning time is too much and I still do it by hand. It takes some getting use to in order to disasemble and put back together correctly. After you do it a few times you get use to it. The blades are very sharp so much so that if you touch the blade while cleaning you may not feel the cut but later you will and so you have to be very careful. The design works well.

I recently tried the GARVEE commercial vegetable cutter, and it’s an excellent tool.
If you need to slice or dice large quantities of produce—apples, potatoes, or other vegetables—this machine makes the job fast and easy.
It’s sturdy, efficient, and ideal for anyone who preps big batches for cooking, canning, or events.

Highly recommended for kitchens that handle a lot of produce.

I absolutely love this... it's a very sturdy mechanism. It's not built cheaply and slices effortlessly. As a user with tennis elbow and starting a lemonade stand THIS is a game changer. No more painful tedious slicing by hand. I have already recommended this to many people just for slicing at home.

Haven't used it a lot, but so far I've been pretty impressed. This product is larger and heavier than I expected. It seems like it would be appropriate for a commercial kitchen. All of this is good. The legs are solid metal, as is the lever and blade holder etc. This product seems like it could survive a nuclear blast... I'm not sure how it will go with long term use, but for my occasional domestic use it has far exceeded expectations.
