This is a great heavy duty bale spear and I think it will be a bit more difficult to bend than our last one. This one was easy to switch out on our front hay forks and handles our 5x4 bales with ease. After a month of daily use, the orange coating has definitely lost it's shine, but the paint is still fully intact, which I was surprised by. This bale spear is definitely more heavy duty than the one it replaced and should last decades without issue, even with the abuse we put our farm equipment through. I think the price ($75.99) is good and the product is high quality.

Hay spear works great on the back of my tractor. Easy to bolt on. Very heavy duty quality which is what you need when speaking hay bales.

My class one Kubota tractor has needed this for some time, as have I. Moving round bales is a job without the right equipment. I have ordered the rear mount for my tractor which comes with the two stabilizing spears but lacks this main 49" hay spear.By using the rear lift, the weight of the tractor engine and front end helps keep the wheels on the ground when lifting large heavy bales. Most of my bales are less than 2,000 lbs so this fits my needs perfectly.The threaded rear and locking nut are a standard size and they will secure the spear to the rear lifting frame.The orange powder coated finish provides corrosion resistance and matches the tractor for an additional benefit.The long tapered tip of the spear allows penetration in tightly rolled bales.For those with a FEL (front end loader) it also works like a charm. Many use the spear on the front lift AND the rear lift to offset the weight differential when bales are being moved loaded on front and back.Great price for a quality, heavy duty, hay spear.
