Seems to work fine, 360 pounds of sand mixed with limestone crushed stone and 3 inches of concrete at the top. The bolts sticking up will be holding a storage box on the top.

This ballast box is all I need. I put about 100lbs of old 5lb sash weights and a couple old 10lb weight bench plates in the bottom, then I put my tow hitch, a few heavy recovery chains, a come along winch, and also a small toolbox inside.I'm also going to be bolting a chainsaw holder to the outside. I am using it as both rear ballast and a utility box that carries everything I need to maintain my property.I bought the same brand quick attach, and the ballast box fits okay and is easy to pick up, but it would be better and smoother with a set of Cat 1 bushings installed on the side lift pins.

One side I had to grind just to get the bolt to fit and the other side went right on. You would think they would check everything after building it so everything fit right.

This thing slaps like a drunk cop. I love it. I bought it, and filled it with 6 80lb bags of concrete. My tractor arrived the next day. Hooked it up, and haven’t take it off since. Great for towing too. Nice and heavy but useful.saw and shovel stay on it

Tightening the Category 1 draw pins is a challenge as there isn’t enough clearance to allow for a socket on the nut, nor are there any flats on the pin to hold the other end. Had to use the flat end of a pry bar to hold the nut and tighten with vice grips. Minus 1 star, see pics. BUT…the box holds 10x35# nominal concrete blocks LIKE A GLOVE, so that’s great! Possible to remove a couple if needed. Note that 16x8x4 concrete blocks are smaller than that to include mortar width, and sizes may vary. Had to encourage the two on the end into place with a mallet. Could probability put two more on top and with the box weight, that’s 475# with space for your tools on the sides and in the welded pipes. The 2” hitch receiver is nice but it’s oversized and wobbly and difficult to attach a hitch stabilizer onto. So not quite 5 stars but close!

Easy install, perfect for the price...

Seems well made, bottom 2 point mounts have no room for a socket to tighten the lower 2 hitch bolts. Ended up using a wedge on the nut to hold it in place and tightened with a X Large pipe wrench. You can place a Heavy duty 55 gal drum trash bag in it and fill with water and tie the top, this makes it so much easier to empty/fill and mount.

This small ballast box arrived on time and in good condition. Most post didn't mention that the box pins that come with it are true to size cat 1 pins. Also, this will have enough clearance on the top link to use a Quick Hitch connect, something that I was truly looking specifically for. Hope this confirmation will help out others.

The ballast box arrived quickly and seems well made. The connection points are spaced properly to use with my Kubota BX2380 tractor. The box is sized so I can place two cat litter buckets side by side in which I put an 80lb bag of concrete each. Laying a third bag on top of those two completes my needed ballast. There are tubes that allow for tool handles along side the concrete ballast.

This is exactly what I was looking for and it shipped immediately.
