The plates are thick and support a lot of weight. I think the castors could be better. They roll OK, but are reluctant to change direction. I had some difficulty assembling them (FYI, I'm very mechanically inclined and have a lot of tools). The problem was that the nut at the top of the castor that goes on the bottom side of the plates, is thinner than most wrenches. So when you thighten the top nut, you can't get the wrench out. My wrenched are Gearwrench, and I also tried my friend's Snap-on whrenchwith the same issue. I finally found a Craftsman wrench that was thin enough it didn't get stuck
