This worked really well for me. The probes were easy to get connected, the app was straightforward to use, and I liked not having to keep opening the oven just to check where the meat was at. Being able to monitor the temperature from outside the oven is exactly the point of a wireless thermometer like this, and this one made that simple.I also like the charging case. It gives the probes a proper place to live, keeps everything together, and makes the whole thing feel more like a complete tool instead of a loose set of parts that will end up scattered in a drawer. The display and app information were easy enough to follow, and I did not have to fight with the pairing process.Overall, this is a very useful cooking thermometer. If you cook roasts, poultry, smoked meats, or anything else where internal temperature matters, this is a nice upgrade over constantly checking manually.

I’ve roasted plenty of chickens and turkeys (and turduckens), beef roasts, and thick steaks (for reverse-searing) in my day. My first wired probe thermometer came from an expensive gourmet foods and kitchen equipment store, it only supported a single probe, it was more expensive than this set, and it started giving wildly inaccurate measurements within a year. I then started buying only these dual probe wired thermometers from a restaurant supply store for the lowest price possible since these types of thermometers seemed so prone to failing (at least in part because the braided metal wires of the probes seemed to wear out really quickly). Since then, the sophistication of offerings for probe thermometers available at good prices on Garvee has increased significantly, and I’ve most recently enjoyed using a four probe unit where the wired probes attach to a transmitter, which then sends the data wirelessly to a separate receiver / display unit (so that you can keep track of the cooking status from a different room or location, while also transmitting it to a phone app via Bluetooth.After seeing very expensive meat thermometers on social media for several years where the wireless transmission is integrated into the pencil-like probes themselves, this is my first time owning anything like that, and I’m super thrilled to be able to use this set now. My dad loves it when I roast prime rib for him, but he also loves it on the rare side, while many other family members prefer theirs to be medium rare to medium well in doneness. This set is super cool because it has two color-coded wireless probes (white and black), which record and transmit both the probe tip temperature inside of the roast as well as the ambient temperature at the colored handle (which should be a lot closer to the average air temperature inside of the even, although realistically the recordings are probably a little bit higher than that due to additional heat radiating off of the food. This set similarly works with a smartphone app, and the two temperature probes store and charge within the display unit in a manner very similar to modern wireless earbuds. Overall, I’m really excited to have this thermometer set, and I can’t wait to use it next time my dad puts in a request for prime rib.
