I have a large yard and go through tank of gas in my riding mower every time I mow. I had four 5 gallon gas cans, but mice decided to chew through two of them and ruined them. You would think after hitting raw fuel on the first one, they would learn a lesson. No, they just moved on to the next one. (It's not like I don't provide them delicious green cakes to munch on, they prefer red plastic!)Then, before I had the chance to replace my gas cans, they chewed the other two! They didn't chew them enough to ruin them, but it was enough for me to look for a different fuel storage solution. I was going to buy metal 5 gallon cans, then I started looking at this caddy instead. Filling it is awkward, because it's a heavy, sloshing, small wheeled behemoth after it's full. So loading it and unloading it on my little trailer is probably a lot of fun for someone else to watch! And that will be the biggest obstacle to using it, is getting it filled. I guess I could simply buy a bunch of gas cans...Hmm. Anyway,The gas caddy works great, but it isn't ready to use right away after assembly. I had to replace the extremely thin grounding wire that broke almost immediately. I also had to support the hose because it comes straight up out of the hand pump, then collapses on itself from the weight of the gasoline once its full of gas.It was a really hot day when I first tried to use it, so the hose was too soft to maintain its shape. The internal wire support isn't strong enough to keep it from folding in on itself. My quick fix was to secure the hose in a way that allows the hose to maintain a gentle radius. The only drawback is that I can't completely drain all the fuel back into the caddy. I might come up with a different solution that will allow me to do so, or not. The gas pump style nozzle is nice, but not very effective. It does completely shut off the fuel when closed, but once it's squeezed open, it will not immediately shut off, as if the sliding internal washer seal is too tight. It will eventually shut back off, but it's very slow to do so.The handle spring seems strong enough, though, because it appears that the nozzle is already cracking apart. If this happens, I'll just replace it with some copper pipe. Most of these caddys don't even have a nozzle like this. So far, it doesn't leak at all. I've been using it for a couple of weeks, now.Some buyers of a different style caddy complained about the tank side panels oil-canning. This caddy has the diamond stampings in the side panels that prevents that popping from happening. This one also has 4 wheels that really makes it easy to roll around my shop. The front wheels lock, which is essential to keep it from rolling back and forth once you start cranking the pump handle. I didn't have any problems with priming the pump. It starts pumping gas with just a few turns of the crank. I especially like the ability to pull gas from my mower tank and pump it back into the caddy. Some buyers had a problem with the fuel guage. I had no issues with it. No problems with rust inside it either. Also, this one has a metal pump. Apparently some other models have a plastic pump.Even though it isn't perfect, and it needs some tweaking before use, I would definitely buy it again.
