Shelf is nice. Pretty sturdy. The reason I only gave it five stars is because the black poles that are on it dented very easily during shipping. This is no fault of the sellers but for the price you are paying it should either be packed more securely or the delivery people should give you a refund for denting up the contents inside the box. So it ended up with both sides having the connecting poles bent and one bent end we had to pry back into shape to get it to fit into the other connecting pipe end. Disappointed

I’m in the middle of remodeling my home office/studio and needed a bookcase that would work with the desk and credenza I already have. I didn’t want something that matched perfectly, so I purposely looked for something that could/would stand on its own and complement what I already have. I spent about a week searching for the right piece, and I’m very happy with my purchase.When the bookcase arrived, I was impressed as soon as I opened the box. Everything was packed well, all the pieces were protected, and nothing was damaged or scratched. The hardware was organized, and it didn’t feel like one of those situations where you’re already frustrated before you even start.Assembly was pretty straightforward. My husband put it together in about 30 minutes. Now, I will admit that there were a few 4-and 5-letter words along the way, but I think that’s just part of putting furniture together. I don’t think anyone places “putting furniture together” at the top of their list of “fun things to do today”!! LOL!!Once it was set up, I was very happy with how it looked. The color is a bit darker than my desk and credenza, which is what I was going for — and it actually worked out even better than I expected! The other furniture is more of a greige color so the darker wood breaks things up and gives the room a little contrast. Also, the other furniture in the office is a higher end brand, but honestly, this piece holds its own — it doesn’t look out of place at all!! It really does look great!One other important thing worth noting — I found this same bookcase on Wayfair and Bed Bath & Beyond/Overstock, and at the time I bought it, Garvee’s price was more than $100 less. Just FYI.So, if you’re looking for something that looks great, holds a decent amount of books and other decor, and fits well into a finished space without spending a fortune, this is a solid choice. I’ll try to update with more photos once I finish the rest of the office/studio, but so far, I’m very happy with it.

Bought three of these for my mini library/office area, as the shelves I had were too short and I didn't have enough space for all my books- they are beautiful! Exactly what I was looking for. They are tall, sturdy, great amount of space, with nice details that give it that extra little character (the wood trim and detail on the metal posts). Very easy to set up, even alone (like I was). The first one took me an hour while I read instructions, checked parts, etc.- the second one took me 45 min, and the third one took me only 30 min once I had the process down. Came with everything I needed, nothing was damaged, but like the other reviews mention, the inner corners were a bit tight with the allen wrench they provide. All in all, very happy with them!

I'm definitely happy with my purchase. It's sturdy , easy to build and adds a nice touch to my decor
