Cute bed frame and headboard. Standard quality.

The sides of the frame are in two separate pieces but are bolted together with the metal bars. The storage at the top is small (it measures 2.25” front to back, and 4” deep; and runs the width of the bed) but it’s perfect for books, reading lights, small stuffed animals, etc… as long as they are more than 4” tall and less than 2.25” thick – anything bigger, won’t fit; anything smaller might get lost inside.You don't need a box spring if you’re using a normal mattress, but if you’re using a memory foam mattress you might need something more than the slats that go across the bottom of the frame to support any sag in the mattress. Also, you will probably want a mattress that is tall enough to sit up at the head board, about 8 to 9 inches worth, so that pillows or other items don’t fall down between the mattress and headboard and end up underneath the bed.The headboard is very soft and nice for leaning against, like sitting up to read in bed. The clearance under the bed is only 4 inches.When putting it together you should go back over each bolt and re-tighten them including the ones that were tightened at the factory, as I found some of them to be loose. Once it's all together, it looks very nice. The quality is standard. I wouldn't allow kids (or adults) to jump up and down on the bed, it would probably break the slats.
