Great for my front porch

This raised garden bed is perfect for my front porch. It looks beautiful. It was super easy to assemble. I really like that it has wheels so you can easily move it around. The wheels don’t go too smoothly on grass though, so you really need to put this on a porch/patio with a flat surface.

NOT FOR INSIDE!!!😮 Important Adds in Written Review!

Growing up on a plant nursery, I’ve had a lot of experience with garden beds. The reason that this bed is not for inside is because as you can see by the 3rd and 4th photos, there is space on each of the connective metal parts on the sides of the bed, and space between each of the connective areas on the bottom of the bed for water to leak between and onto the floor. So, in no way would you want this for inside the house. Also, this cart has 18 wheels making it easy to move on a perfectly smooth surface. However, if the surface is in ANY way not perfectly flat, the garden bed will not stay together. You can see my husband in the 5th photo using a board to smooth the surface of the soil. We had thought that we had smoothed the soil enough before this but just a 1/2” or so unevenness made the a couple of the 12 bottom sections (photo 6) move up or down resulting in the sides of the bed lifting up, or bogging out not keeping the soil in. I suggest that if you do use this garden bed on soil, don’t use the wheels because the wheels are small. Therefore, when rain falls or if you are simply watering the plants a lot, the soil will sink in some areas just enough to make the wheels sink into the ground (so that you won’t be able to move the bed anyways) and the sinking of the wheels will make the garden bed more easily uneven as well. You can see in the last photo the placement of the metal supports across the top of the garden bed. This is what I meant in the video saying that there are only 4 support rods, not 5. In this photo, you can see clearly that we did not put a support at the beginning of the bed because the end of the bed is stable because of the curved end. The middle of the bed is where it needs the most support. The top of the bed is SMOOTH because it has a nice, rolled edge. However, IF you accidentally put it upside down, the bottom (of the metal sides is sharp) - That’s why this bed comes with gloves. You want to put the rolled edge at the top of the bed because this strengthens the bed as well. That said, there are a few tiny points/edges of metal panels where they meet (maybe 6 or so) that are sharp that you will want to file for a couple seconds - will take easily less than 5 minutes to file them all but that is it.As you can see in the second photo, I use this bed to hold large plants in 6” pots before I place them into the ground. We live in a place with high desert heat and very low humidity of sometimes 0%. The intense heat and sun rots the roots of the plants if we leave the plants in pots out in the open. So, sinking the pots into the soil here makes a HUGE difference in our plants surviving the transition from inside greenhouse life, to outside challenges in our environment.Overall, I am exceptionally happy with the bed in appearance and functionality. I hope that something here has helped you decide if this is the bed for you, or if something else is better for your needs. Here’s wishing you well!
