First, yes, it is reversible. The pattern and background colors are simply reversed on the opposite side, so you get two different looks in one mat.When I first received it, I was actually a little surprised because I thought I was ordering more of a traditional indoor/outdoor rug. Instead, it’s a woven plastic straw mat. Once I realized that, though, I quickly changed my opinion. For the price, this thing is an absolute gem. I ended up loving it so much that I got a second one, and I’ll probably be buying more as gifts for my adult kids.One feature I really appreciate is that the fold lines remain visible. They’re not unattractive at all. They’re meant to be there and actually make it incredibly easy to fold the mat back up. It fits into the included carrying bag effortlessly with room to spare. There’s absolutely no struggling to get it packed away. The rug shown in my carrying bag photo had been on my deck for several days, and it took my husband and me about a minute to fold it up and put it away.The portability is one of my favorite things about it. This 9’ x 12’ size is fantastic for larger gatherings, backyard parties, camping, or spreading out on the lawn. For something like a kids’ sporting event or an outdoor concert, I’d probably choose one of the smaller sizes unless I wanted room for a larger group. My husband and I enjoy taking walks in the woods and occasionally stopping off the trail to relax or even take a nap, and this mat is perfect for that kind of outing.The construction is excellent. The binding sewn around the entire perimeter is sturdy and neatly finished, and each corner has a strong loop for the included stakes. Those are definitely worth using on breezy days because the mat is lightweight enough that a good gust of wind could move it, even though it doesn’t feel flimsy.Overall, I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. What I initially thought might be a disappointment turned into one of my favorite outdoor products. It’s attractive, well made, lightweight, very easy to clean, incredibly portable, and an outstanding value. I highly recommend it.

This a 9x12 weatherproof rug. I placed it on my upper deck, which already had furniture on it. That just made the installation interesting. The photo shows the first phase of my installation. I placed the rug and stapled one side of it to the deck. After a few days in the 100°+ heat, I'll go back and stretch it, stapling the other sides. Hopefully, this end up protecting the deck and reducing the amount of water that makes it to the area under the deck when it rains.The rug seems very well-made and comes with a storage bag and small metal spikes in case you want to use it temporarily as a picnic area or under an outdoor table and pack it away for next time. Plus, it looks good.The only down-side I've seen is the creases from being folded and vacuum packed for shipping. That's hard to avoid, if you want to keep shipping costs down. I'm hoping that the heat and time will cause it to relax. The company says 12 hours. We'll see!
