This papasan chair is exactly the kind of seat you want to curl up in with a good book or just relax after a long day. The oversized cushion is soft and plush, and the deep bowl shape feels supportive and comfortable. This is a nice chair, in principle. It was easy enough to put together and the swivel mechanism is heavy-duty. The design is functional, practical and asthetically lovely. But the entire thing is let down by the silliest of things.The cushion is a little small. It doesn't quite hang far enough over the edge of the seat's frame. You can fiddle around the positioning to temporarily alleviate this problem, but it's an ongoing issue.The bigger issue is however is that the cushion is simply too thin. We'll, not too thin so much as the stuffing is not dense enough. You can literally feel the hardness of the frame once your body weight settles into the cushion. So comfort is an issue.We have all sorts of additional cushions and cushioning around the house so we were able to solve the problem, but the out-of-the-box experience here is not as good as you would reasonably expect it to be in our opinion.We'll be going with a 4-star rating here. It's generous given the cushioning issue in my opinion, but my wife absolutely loves the chair now that we've added some additional cushioning. She adores the design, adores the freedom to swivel around, and she sits in it every single day. So we're going with her rating :)
This papasan chair turned out looking amazing. It didn’t take me too long to get it fully assembled. I love that. It’s black color goes perfectly with the existing colors in my home already. And it also hides marks easier. It seems to be very sturdy and stable and does not tilt or tip over easily. I am 165 pounds and it holds my weight perfectly. It is accurate in size and is 40 inches in diameter.
This papasan chair is super cute it my living room space was really easy to put together. I was surprised by how quickly it was ready to use. It looks adorable in the room and has become such a cozy spot to relax with a blanket and book or just unwind for a bit.My only two complaints are that the cushion isn't quite as thick as I expected, and the chair sits at a lower angle than I personally prefer- it outs your neck at a weird angle. I prop a pillow up and it helps a lot. Neither one is a dealbreaker, but a little extra padding and a slightly more upright position would make it even better. The fabric seems like it will be easy to throw in the wash and easy to wipe clean. The size is perfect for a corner spot.That said, it's still comfortable, feels sturdy, and my kids absolutely love curling up in it. It's definitely become one of the most popular seats in the house.
