I love that this is lightweight, that's why I bought it. I only need to transport two portable dog crates that are collapsed and lay flat.I think the instructions lack information and the diagrams are sometimes not the easiest to decipher. With a little effort and trial and error, I was able to put it together with no left over parts. But, my biggest issue with this was that after spending 6 hours assembling, disassembling and reassembling, I couldn’t secure it to the crossbars of my Toyota. Sadly, half of the knobs that were provided to hold the nuts so that you can easily tighten the nuts to the u-bolt did NOT accommodate the nuts. There appear to be two slightly different sized knobs. On one set of four knobs/nuts, the nut sinks right into the knob and you have no trouble tightening it down. The others, the knob is too small and the nut doesn’t sink into the knob so that when you turn the knob, the knob turns the nut. Because the nut doesn’t fit, the knob can't grab the sides of the nut to turn it. It's literally off by like a mm.Needless to say I am very disappointed. I now have this rack fully assembled in my garage and I don't know that I have the inclination to take it apart to return it for a refund. And I am out an additional $800 because I had to go to a local rack shop to purchase one that I could use for my trip.So, if you purchase this, the FIRST thing you want to do is check the nuts, the knobs, and the u-bolts to ensure they will work. You don't want to find out after you assemble the rack.

This was something that I surprisingly loved and it was very sturdy. Unfortunately, it did come in missing apart, and I was looking at all over for it, but it is a cheaper option if you were looking for a platform and not like a a full like luggage carriage. I did enjoy the way that it looked on top of my car. I did have to get a wind flare to stop the sound of the wind, but it was very sturdy. I did very much enjoy it but because it was missing apart I was not able to use it fully, but would recommend.
