This is a beautiful rug. It's not a thick, woven carpet type rug in the traditional sense. It's a microfiber type fabric with a printed pattern. It kinda looks and feels like velvet under your feet. It is thin, with a non-slip backing. Like...imagine a blanket for the floor...if that makes sense. All this being said, it's really nice. The pattern is beautiful and the non-slip backing is very effective, even when my cat decides to go nuts and is running around playing on it...skidding out. The rug does not move or slip. She also doesn't seem to have any interest in clawing it. I guess the texture doesn't bring out her claw sharpening instinct, so that's a bonus. I got this rug on DEEP discount sale for under $15.00 and I like it SO much I've ordered another one...for about $30.00...in the same color scheme but a different pattern so I can switch them out when cleaning one...or just when I feel like it. It's light weight so that should make it easy to wash, move and store away when needed. I'm more than pleased with this rug! If you're open to the thinness and microfiber fabric I think you'll enjoy it...and again, it's SUPER soft...feels nice on bare feet!
