I don't normally give 5 stars, but I'm really pleased with these. First, for less than $100 you get two really nice stanchions. They are all metal. Granted, some parts are pretty thin brass, but they're metal. I used sand to fill the bases and they're probably about 8 pounds each? Not heavy at all to move around, but they stay in place. The base is super shiny--you're going to want to make sure they get polished. I'm dreading the day they get scratches, because all surfaces are a mirror finish! The red velvet rope is bright red, and very soft. They're just a nice classy set and not too crazy expensive.
These are just what I was hoping for! They look nice and elegant. At first I was worried because they felt really light, but the bottom has a piece that’s meant to be filled with sand for more weight. They are still decently stable without the sand, but I only used them for decorative reasons.

They came with the tool and hardware for assembly (and only took minutes to put together). The velvet rope is nice and long, good quality.NOTE: You’ll need to add sand to the base to weigh it down. I assembled them and took the photos without the sand, so they’re useable without it…but to protect it from possibly tipping over and scratching the pretty gold metal, you should add it.Recommend
These are great, the assembly was straightforward and took less than 5 minutes. They aren’t as heavy as I thought they would be, but they aren’t flimsy either. The bottom has a container that’s meant to be filled with sand to give it some weight, but even without the sand they don’t feel in danger of toppling over very easily. The velvet rope has some weight to it so it doesn’t feel tacky or cheap. My only gripe is that the red looks slightly too bright and tacky in person. I wish it was a bit of a deeper richer red, but I feel like they will look perfectly fine in a dimmer room.
