Bought this to spread seed on my deer plot. I had to buy a new UTV hitch, but it worked great. Assembly took a bit of deciphering…make sure to put spacers on axle rods.

Once I got it put together it performed well. It had no problem handling a 40 pound bag of fertilizer without jamming up or skipping. The parts were well-made and I think the spreader was a good value. I did have to deduct one star for the assembly directions and parts labeling. The assembly manual had the main forks reversed from what they were labeled. Several other of the parts had the parts number or label on the wrong part. This resulted in having to put it together and take it apart a couple times to get it right. Other than that I would recommend.

This GARVEE tow behind spreader features a huge 85-pound capacity, pneumatic tires, simple, easy, precise flow control, a whopping 12 foot spreading width all riding on a hefty powder coated steel frame.I’m getting much more done in much less time.Of course there is “some assembly required.”Some of the instructions seemed a little confusing, but I figured it out eventually. Pay attention to the spacers on the crossbar for the wheels / tires. Everything else lined up perfectly with very little effort. No surprises.I own a mower with a 54-inch deck and now I’m the proud owner of a tow behind spreader. Game changer! I’ll never push one of those little 2-wheeled spreaders in this yard again. An 85-pound payload is a lot of grass seed, fertilizer, pest control or weed control. I fill up the hopper with fertilizer, head out to the yard, and get the job finished in less than half the time it used to take.This is so great compared to how I used to get a big job like this done. If you see me out in the yard now; It may look like I’m working from a distance, but I’m really just riding around looking at the grass, spreading fertilizer, and drinking iced-tea.If you have a very big yard you owe it to yourself to checkout a GARVEE Broadcast Spreader.Hope this helps.

My yard is finally getting uniform coverage since I switched over to this tow behind unit for my fertilizer needs. The flow control mechanism allows for fine tuning so I do not waste expensive seed on the driveway. It is rated for 85 lbs which is plenty for my acreage and the pneumatic tires handle soft ground surprisingly well. Having that included hopper cover keeps everything dry when the weather decides to turn on me. It is built robust enough to handle winter ice melt without rusting out immediately.
