I always need a rug or runner at the bottom of my stairs so my dog does not slide on the wood floors when she comes down the stairs. I used to use a yoga mat before I ordered this beautiful runner. It is lightweight and should be easy enough to wash at home, although I would take it to the Laundromat just to protect my home washer. It is very soft and not padded, but a nice texture of comfort over a hardwood floor. The backing is rubbery and grips the floor beneath just enough as it is a hard surface floor. I would be worried ti may slip on a carpeted surface without a rubber liner or something. Overall it is a really nice runner for multiple home use locations.
Love this one, pretty color, nice pattern and these are easy to wash. Great, if you have pets.

I have an old dog whose feet slide around on the hard floors to the point where she got super GARVEE to walk around the house so I got several of these runners to place around so she has good footing. I like the slip resistant backing on this rug and that it can be tossed into the washer when it gets grubby. Looks great on my grey laminate floors, too.
