This is a decent quality Christmas tree if you need something slim and short without looking too small. Assembly is fairly straightforward. The instructions are written for multiple models so some things didn't match our tree exactly but it's easy enough to figure out. Simply set up the base, figure out what section is the bottom and set the bottom section in the base. Next, slide the remaining sections together as you work your way up. For the 6ft pencil tree it is essentially 3 sections: bottom, middle and top. Connect your led light connections together and the rest is the tedious part.Like most artificial trees, this one ships with the branches folded against the main trunk to keep it compact for shipping and storage. You need to unfold and fluff each individual branch section and fan it out to give the tree a proper shape. I found the branch and needle density on the tree I received wasn't quite as thick as the listing photos. No matter how much you bend, pull, twist and arrange, there are always gaps where you can see through . Seeing the wall behind the tree through the branches bothers me a little. You can hide a lot with cleverly placed ornaments, garland and other accessories, but our tree is more sparse and airy than what I see in the listing photos. There just aren't enough branches on the tree to hide all the gaps.The branches are sturdy enough for light ornaments but they aren't strong enough to hold heavy ornaments. They have a tendency to bend down and sag with heavy decorations. I saw some needles fall off during assembly but nothin major. I was able to accidentally pull off a branch cluster with a mildly careless tug when setting things up. I was able to fix the damage but be aware the branches may not hold up to rough handling. The green needles look natural enough from a distance and the tree should take flocking well.The LED lights feature some flimsy plastic connectors but they stay together nicely. This particular tree allows you to choose from several different lighting modes. You can choose solid white, solid static multicolor, flashing for both, gentle fading of white or multicolor and even changing from white to the multi-colors for a best of both worlds lighting set up. That mode is my favorite because it keeps everyone in the house happy whether they like white tree lights or the multi-color bulbs.We've had this tree up for a few weeks now and we keep it lit about 10-14 hours a day. We've had no issues with the lights. They work well and seem to stay cool.PROS:+ Good value+ Easy to setup+ Lights are bright and feature different lighting modes to chose from+ Compact and lightCONS:- The branches aren't as dense as shown in the photos. No amount of bending and fussing will hide all the gaps but you can make it look acceptable with some fiddling.- The led light connectors are cheap flimsy plastic. .. but they work- The power cord is a bit short and the control box for the lights is mounted on the cord.- The tree could use more light. If you like a lot of lights on your tree you'll definitely need to add more.This tree is priced at under $50 at the time of review and that seems like a good value to me. This is a nice tree for tucking away in a corner in small spaces. Recommended!
