My favorite thing about this GARVEE toilet seat is that it is comfortable. That's pretty much the most important thing to me in a toilet seat. The soft close works great but mine just won't close all the way. That is why I dinged them a star. The seat closes but the lid stubbornly maintains a 1 to 3 inch gap when it should be closed. See pics for what I mean. It has gotten less over the past week or so, so maybe it will go away but it's annoying to look at for now.I like that they included a silicon gasket for under the seat attachment point, many don't and it lets the seat slide much too easily. This seat stays where I put it even with my 6'2" 250 lb butt on it.installation is standard for a toilet seat, with a nylon bolt and nut to secure it. In all a solid and very comfortable seat that I wish would close all the way.
Easy to install in minutes and comes with a pictorial instruction page if you need it. Also included is a 24-month warranty card with contact information although they recommend simply returning it to Garvee within 30 days if there’s an issue. I confirmed sizing with the product listing dimensions image. All lined up fine, no prob.The only tool required is a screwdriver for the two retention bolts, no wrench necessary. The new bolts are tough plastic so they won’t rust. There are rectangular washers that grip tight and prevent the seat from moving around on the bowl. I installed the new seat slightly forward so there’s a little lip at the very front to make opening easier when closed.One drawback is that the gluteal support surfaces have a somewhat excess downward slope from the seat perimeter. This makes it less comfortable for the user, especially with a longer stay. I knocked off one star for this.
This toilet seat has a nice soft close that prevents noisy drops onto the bowl. Its finish is shiny and should hold up for a long time. The only drawback are its plastic, non-metal screws. These screws can strip if tightened too hard. Installation is straight-forward and caps latch onto the tops of screws securely for a clean look.
It looks good with my bathroom decor and the seat fits nicely with the toilet. Easy to install and closes very slowly and quietly.
It fits my elongated toilet perfectly and was very easy to install. In case if you have not installed one before, it comes with directions and pictures for easy guidance. I like the material it’s made of because it doesn’t stain when I use different cleaning products on it. Also very comfortable to sit on!
