very unsafe , wheels on my all caught ,,, would not swivel with out catching ,,,,, then the screws !!!! not bolts !!!! to attach the wheels to the frame ,, were screws with PHILIP head screws to put the on with , totally wrong , that you could not tighten up how would you like to have a 2 ton engine hanging on the hoist and have a wheel or wheels catch , or the PHLIP head screws let loose !! also the plate that attaches to the frame ,that are half the thickness of wheels at rural king, all around this is a dangerous piece of equipment !!
I used it to lift up some batteries for installation on shelves in my garage. Setup was straight forward, had good enough documentation, and seems sturdy as heck. For the price I paid, well worth it. Will sell it on second hand, but was still miles cheaper than a rental.
When I received this from UPS, one of the 2 packages was mangled. I was really concerned that most of the fasteners were long gone. I started taking all the parts out and noticed that the hardware was loosely attached to the main structure, post, legs, wheels, etc. I don't know if that's how it comes or if someone from UPS put it together to make sure the bolts were there, but it made assembly really easy. The only thing that was missing was one of the retaining pins and spring clip. I just went down to the hardware store and picked up a standard towing hitch pin, and all was good. Sure, there were a few scratches, but this is a tool which will no doubt gain more. If UPS placed the fasteners together, then 5 stars to them. If they didn't, 2 stars. For my purposes, and price, the hoist looks and feels pretty sturdy. The only other thing that is quirky on the one I have is the beam capacity labeling "2-Ton, 1/2 Ton, 1 Ton, & 1-1/2 Ton" in that order.
Bought this 2 ton hoist out of necessity! I have a 1 ton hoist from Harbor Freight but it wasn't sufficient enough to install my engine. Price was right on with my budget. Was a little skeptical as I had purchased a 2 ton from Garvee before and was ket with poor results. This hoist actually came with good instructions and performed beyond my expectations.
