I bought this shaft for my 8 foot tractor mounted rear snow thrower. The old shaft had to be heated to be extended and had no safety shield on it so I figured for this price it was time to replace it. What a difference. This shaft is so easy to work. It had to be cut a little to fit which was simple. Pull it apart, cut the steel, smooth, cut the plastic, smooth, put it back together and mount it. The shaft extends so smoothly and the locking pin works so well even in cold weather. And the price was so reasonable, I just bought another longer shaft for my "Bush Hog" brand mower that has a slip clutch on it. I couldn't buy the replacement parts I needed for that shaft for what I paid for this one.
