If you hate daily scooping, this automatic litter box is a game changer. The app connectivity makes tracking easy, it controls odors really well, and cats take to it quickly without getting spooked. I’ve had plenty of robot litters and they all scare the cats away when it’s self cleaning. Not this one!!!!

I thought these self cleaning liter boxes were overkill or a gimmicky device and never considered getting one before now. But we’ve been using this one from GARVEE for only a few days and honestly, I’m so impressed! It’s a fantastic upgrade for us and makes this dreaded chore a lot more manageable.It only took a short time for the cats to get in and use to it. They were inspecting it and curious right away and by the second day, they were using it every time. It goes to work right after the cats use it and dumps the dirty litter into the tray below it, so I don’t have to worry about cleaning it every day. The 70 liter size is great for my two cats and I don’t have to empty the waste drawer as often as I expected. It’s a smart device and works with the Tuya app, which we already had been using for our washer and dryer, so it’s is super handy to check status and how often the cats are using it. It will even run a cleaning cycle when we’re not home. It’s really quiet and I barely notice it running and it doesn’t bother the cats at all. And best of all, it definitely controls the smell! It seems like a good quality unit, is sturdy and easy to keep clean.It was easy to assemble too. The instructions are pretty straightforward. It requires the unit to be placed near an electrical outlet and on a level surface, since it has pressure and weight sensors. Both the box and the fan require electricity but they come with the necessary cords. It’s easy to operate and has an instruction booklet as well as an instruction label right on the unit, near the control panel.Overall, this thing has made life a lot easier for us. If you don’t have one of these, I highly encourage you to try this one. It’s worth every penny!

I’ve always wanted to try a self-cleaning litter box, but two things stopped me: the price and, more importantly, fear that something could happen to my cats. I finally had the opportunity to try this GARVEE, and I absolutely love it. This is my first automatic litter box, so I can’t compare it to others, but I wish I had tried one sooner.My biggest concern was safety, and seeing how this actually operates has really put my mind at ease. The drum moves incredibly slowly, there’s nothing sharp inside, and I don’t see any obvious place for a cat to get caught. I would never claim that any automatic device is completely risk-free, but I feel very comfortable with this one. It also has a sensitive entrance sensor that stops the cycle if a cat approaches. Mine will stop when a cat simply starts to enter.I have two cats, and although they’ve transitioned to it without any problem, I’ve temporarily turned off automatic cleaning while we all get completely comfortable with it. I simply run it through the app a couple times a day when I know they’re not around. Eventually I’ll probably let it run automatically, but I really appreciate having complete control over it.My cats were already accustomed to a large, completely enclosed planter-style litter box, so that probably helped with the transition. I later tried moving their litter box into the cabinet underneath a cat tree, but that didn’t go well. Urine occasionally got outside the stainless steel pan and underneath it against the wooden cabinet, and maneuvering a large litter pan in and out was a pain.For some price perspective, I probably paid $60–$70 for that old planter litter box and another $35–$40 just for the stainless steel pan I put inside the cabinet. After spending that much on regular litter-box setups, I think paying a little extra for everything this does is absolutely worth it.The inside is roomy enough for my cats, and they’re not making nearly as much of a mess as I expected. They do drag litter out, because apparently cat litter must travel throughout the house no matter what kind of box you own. The entrance is also a fairly high step, so I plan to buy a litter-catching step for the front. That should make getting in and out easier as they age while hopefully catching some of the litter.Definitely obey the MAX litter line! I like giving my cats lots of clean litter, so naturally I decided more would be better and filled it higher. The machine promptly dumped the extra clean litter into the waste compartment. I scooped a bunch out and back into its box. Lesson learned. The maximum really is the maximum, so don’t waste your litter trying to overfill it. I left some of the clean litter it dumped into the waste compartment because I figured it might even help absorb odor. Whether it does or not, I can’t say, but I’m smelling absolutely nothing from this unit.There is also a ventilation fan. I’ve heard it referred to as an air purifier in another review, but it isn’t an air purifier; it’s simply a fan. I still really like having it because it draws air through the enclosed space, and I like the idea of the cats having some fresher air while they’re inside.The app is another huge plus. This uses TUYA, and I already have two unrelated devices from other brands using the same app, so thankfully this wasn’t yet another app to add to my phone. I’ve always found TUYA reliable, straightforward and easy to use. With the litter box, I can see how often my cats use it and their recorded weights. I can’t verify that the weight is exact, but it appears very close based on what I know my cats weigh. I actually love being able to see how often they’re using the box…and with the different weights I know which one used it and when.Cleaning is surprisingly easy. The large lightweight canopy releases from the back and lifts off, then you slide a simple lock out of the way and lift out the drum. I can take the drum to the bathtub, clean and wipe everything, then put it right back together. I’ve already disassembled and reassembled it several times, and once you understand how it works, it’s very simple.The instructions, however, could definitely be better. The first time I tried removing the canopy, I couldn’t tell what the release button was actually doing and didn’t want to force anything and break it. It doesn’t really click like a traditional release button; you’re basically pushing the plastic tab away from where it catches. I strongly recommend watching some of the video reviews before taking it apart the first time. Once you see how it works, it’s easy.Funny enough, even with the extra step of removing the drum, I find this easier to clean and reassemble than my old planter litter box. That one only had a top and bottom, but getting the huge top lined up and latched correctly was always a pain.If you watch my video—and actually want to spend about five minutes watching an automatic litter box run—you may notice some urine toward the back where one of my cats...
