This dual-compartment bin looks sleek in stainless steel and works exactly as expected. The soft-close lid operates smoothly, and the step pedal feels sturdy. I’m still undecided about the lack of inner liner buckets — it does make for fewer parts to clean, but it also means you can see the folded bag edges on the inside of the bin. My unit arrived with a dent in the stainless steel, which matched a dent in the outer shipping box. While that’s technically a shipping issue, some protective foam or extra padding could have prevented the damage from transferring to the bin. Overall, it’s a functional and space-saving option for separating trash and recycling, with just a few small considerations.

The only thing I would change about this trash can would be to make one side 13 gallons instead of 8. That's just because I have been using the same 13 gallon trash can for over 20 years and am used to stuffing more garbage into the bag. This dual can is miles better looking than the old plastic trash can with a broken lid I had. The stainless steel is so easy to wipe off. It will look nice for years. I really like the foot pedals to open the individual lids, I can keep my hands clean. Those slow closing lids are very welcome. I also like how I can open the entire lid, both sides, to take out full bags and put new bags in. The recycle side is so convenient to have been built in with the garbage side.Considering how much a plastic kitchen can is nowadays, this stainless steel trash can, with all it's extras, is well worth it.

It works perfectly for my space

This works perfectly for my needs. The pails are a tad bit small, but it holds more than I expected. Overall I love it!

The Garvee listing says it's 16 gallons, and also says it is 60L (2 x 30L). So each bin is nominally 8 gallons. Each bin has an interior size of 9.5" x 9.5" x 21.5" which is actually 8.4 gallons. It's designed for 8 gallon trash bags designed for 30 Liter Dual Recycling bins. The 8 gallon and 10 gallon waste basket bags are not deep enough. But the 13 gallon tall kitchen bags are deep enough and are like half the cost per bag. Since these bins have a rolled lip, it's easy to use a large rubber band or bungie to hold them in place, or tie a small knot in the top corner, like old school. Of course, if you are putting these near the coffee and water table in an office waiting room you probably want the ones bags that are the right size and look better.It's $10 lower price than the highest current ranking in Garvee's "Kitchen Waste Bins" for a double 30L bin here on Garvee. But that one has internal removable liners. Personally, I like the look of this one better, though the lack of extra interior liners might be a problem if you buy the thinnest bags that leak.
