Perfect for any occasion! My husband and I looked into various ice crushers, and this was a definite bang for the buck and was exactly what we were looking for! My dad used it for the first time to make Halo-Halo, a cold, sweet, layered Filipino dessert wherein crushed ice is a must. He was simply amazed that the consistency of the ice was just like what he remembered when making Halo-Halo in the Philippines. My husband also experimented on creating a home-made "snow cone" using organic mixed berries. It was delicious! Imagine other countless ways to use this awesome product not just during summertime but also throughout the year! This ice crusher's unique and is easy to move around. The red on/off button on the left side is easily accessible. For the base, we recommend using a mat or an absorbent washcloth; otherwise, you'll spot small pieces of crushed ice or later melted ice on the surrounding areas. Also, use a small spoon or spatula to slide down any accumulated ice in between the metal and gray lids during the crushing process. When finished, the leftover small pieces of ice melt onto the collecting round tray and can be easily discarded. The inside of the device is then ready to take on another batch of ice (we got ours from our refrigerator). Overall, we recommend this unique product and would be a great addition, if not the highlight of your kitchen appliance collection!

This snow cone machine is incredible!!! I've had several tabletop models, but this one is the creme de la creme. It makes an absolute ton of ice with very little effort. You can certainly use the ice from your fridge, but if you're using it at a larger function, bags of ice might be better. I will note that before the first use, I had to air it out for several days-- the plastic smell is VERY strong. The ice comes out just like the snow cone truck--perfect for adding syrups, fruit juice, or just enjoying plain. I bet my kids and all their friends will be spending a lot of time at our house this summer! =)
