Description of threaded interfaces is a little vague. The information is all there but it's not definitive. There is one 3/4"""" NPT male threaded stab for the ball valve to go onto. My pan came with a stainless ball valve. The other port is 1/2"""" NPT female for additional accessories. Both ports are located as close to the bottom of the pan as physically possible. The pan is rugged and heavy-which is good. I'm going to use mine for boiling down maple syrup. The only potential problem I see with the way I'm going to use it is the """"weight"""" of it. Thinner pans transfer heat into the liquid better so I'm going to have to keep my fire rippin' which is more labor intensive and will use more firewood. An equitable trade for a pan that should last.
This maple syrup evaporator has excellent performance and can quickly evaporate the water in the maple sap, saving a lot of time. During the production process, I can clearly feel the efficiency improvement, which makes the whole process easier.
