This is an amazing outdoor floor covering. It does not get hot on the feet and heavy enough so that the wind doesn't blow away. Because of it's straw like nature (think tightly woven Easter basket) water beads off and rushes underneath it. I use it on my cool decking pool deck. A regular mat would destroy the cool decking material if water were to collect underneath it. Its also very soft to walk on but can get a little slippery.I also plan on taking it to the beach and also on picnics. It folds up into a nice package the size of a 12 pack of soda. I also plan on taking it on camping trips and you can also line the back of a puck up truck if you do not have a liner
