Rug is very thick and soft, and has a great non slip backing .
The rug I have laying beside a bit in the first picture is trimmed in a true navy blue. I know it almost looks black beside of it but it is navy. Color of this rug is between a royal blue and a navy blue. Comfortable to walk on. Not the exact color I wanted but it's huge and it's heavy so I'm keeping it.

This shag carpet runner was originally purchased to be in front of our exterior back door to catch yard debris on shoes, but we ended up putting it in front of a couple of our easy chairs on top of a gray ceramic plank floor. It is soft and comfortable under our feet and we ended up leaving it there. Shortly there after, we got a new pound pup and she uses it extensively! She rolls on it, rubs her snout on it, and is very comfortable sitting and laying in our feet on this rug, seen in the picture. The backing provides enough of a grip so that it does not slip and it has vacuumed well.
This runner has a "dotted" rubber type backing and stays in place on my tile floor. It is a short shag and is comfortable to stand on. It had no smell when opened and laid flat in a few hours. Packaged very good. I would definitely recommend.
This rug looks so beautiful in my room and is very soft, and comfortable on my feet! It doesn't skid at all and looks great.
