Garvee Range Hood 30 inch, 400 CFM Under Cabinet Range Hood with Strong Suction, Stainless Steel Kitchen Hood with 3-Speed Exhaust Fan and Two Bright LED Lights

This hood is a good value for the hundred and thirty bucks I paid, but definitely has some significant flaws, some fixable.Unlike most of the hoods at this price point, this one actually has two fans and a 6" exhaust duct, so moves a significant amount of air. I actually believe the 400 CFM rating, even on low it easily sucks paper up to the bottom. For the amount of air it's moving, the noise is quite reasonable. It's not necessarily "quiet", but a reasonable fan noise.Now, the issues:First, the packing is good but not quite adequate for a 40 lb hood. I had to return one for being dented, and then the second one had some minor dents that I was able to mostly fix.Additionally, there are a number of rivets that are either missing or not fully installed, which led to the hood being able to sightly bend and deform in shipping.The damper flaps that prevent air from flowing backward out of the hood are a poor design. They don't fit the pipe tightly, and they are not spring loaded. Gravity would normally be sufficient to keep them closed, but the design allows for the flaps to open past vertical, which means gravity holds them open instead of closed. I fixed this with some judicious bending of the tabs on the flaps so they can no longer open past vertical. Now they close reliably, but they still don't seal tightly.The lights that come with the hood are terrible. They are very weak, and a cold white 6000K+ color temperature. I did some testing, and it turns out the led lights themselves are a reasonable 1.5W and decent amount of light. The issue is the LED driver, which is a cheap capacitive voltage drop type that is far too weak to power even these small lights. I measured the LED's power draw at 150mA each, while the driver can only output ~50mA. It dips down to below 9V when the lights are on, and each light is only supplied 0.35W instead of 1.5W+.You can access the LED driver by removing the baffles, then the front panel that holds the lights, then the center trim panel. It's inside the power junction box. I am replacing mine with a 300mA 12V LED driver, which is perfect to power the stock lights.The lights are also straightforward to replace. They are held in with a spring clip. Search for "range hood lights" with a SM type connector. I am swapping mine out for warm white 3000K lights because I want the color, but the new driver alone would be enough to use the stock LEDs if I liked the cool white color.

Item had a few dents from shipping, but nothing I can't overlook. The product works great!

Looks great, have to move vent on unit to fit current duct vent. After getting help to mount, instructions for light and fan are a struggle but think we'll figure that out

The exhaust fan performs well. Quality of materials is excellent. Simplicity of operation a plus. Manuel install instructions could be more detailed. Fan is a WIN.
