My boyfriend admitted that this is probably the funnest thing I've ordered this year (and as a chronic shopper, I've ordered a lot). But, we've been on a big, trinket-finding kick and we've talked endlessly about getting a metal detector to aid in our treasure hunting, and this one by GARVEE is a great way for us to dip our toes into the metal detector game before going all out and getting the most expensive tools out there. Plus, neither of us have ever even come close to a metal detector (just big fans of youtube creators that do similar things) so we really need something beginner-friendly.This one arrives in pieces, with the more fragile pieces protected but setting it up probably takes a little under ten minutes (and breaking it down when you're done probably takes about two), and is very easy. The hardest part was probably putting the battery in right since the little plus and minus signs are difficult to see, especially in low light.I would definitely recommend taking some time to at least skim the directions if you're a true beginner to get a sense of the different buttons, and once you do that, it's pretty easy to use. I did keep the directions handy as we were testing it out in my backyard to get a better sense of what metals we were coming across. We mostly stuck with the forest feature and the pinpoint feature, but once we get more comfortable, we'll probabbly see more value in the other search modes.I also love that it comes with headphones, a little (and very nice) shovel, and a carrying bag. It's truly everything you'll need to get started.

Between the consistent 5.8kHz performance, easy-to-read screen, and simple controls, this detector is just fun to use. It’s reliable enough that I trust what it’s telling me, which makes every hunt more enjoyable.

We’ve always wanted to go “treasure” hunting, so we were excited to get this metal detector! It was easy to set up and seems very beginner-friendly, which is perfect for us as we’re just getting started. The backlit LCD display is easy to read, and the controls are straightforward without feeling overwhelming.The detector feels sturdy and well made, and I appreciate the waterproof search coil since we plan to take it to beaches and other outdoor locations. The multiple detection modes are a nice feature and give us plenty of options as we learn more about the hobby.So far, we’re impressed with the quality and ease of use. We can’t wait to get out there and start searching for coins, relics, and other hidden treasures. Hopefully, we’ll be back to update this review with photos and videos of some exciting finds in the future!Highly recommend for anyone interested in getting started with metal detecting.

I have had several metal detectors over time and this one is one of the better ones in a great price range. It was super easy to put together and came with a nice bag for when you pack it away. I have had others that you could not break down and stow away and they were long to put in the car. You get head phones, folding military type shovel and a bag to hold it also.It is all very well made and was super easy to use. You get several different modes to choose from. I use the disk mode and then you just push one button for pin point mode and it makes it easy to find metal objects. It has a built in speaker or you can use the head phones. I prefer to go without the head phones and you can adjust the volume on it.You can adjust the back light screen and it is easy to see in the sunlight. It is not too heavy and the arm strap makes it balance good. For the price and the features this is one of the better ones I have owned. You don't need to be a rocket science major to use this one.5 stars!!!
