Works great

At first was not sure it would work. After playing with it for awhile got it to actually work. It works really well now and easy to use. Lights without hesitation. It has the cord to keep it lit. Husband likes it alot because he does not need matches to light the fire.

Fast

When I first started to light my charcoal with this electric charcoal starter, it took so long to light one briquette that I ready to give up but, once I got the hang of it, I was able to get the coals lit within seconds. The charcoal ignites quickly when you hold the barrel directly, closely over the briquette, press and hold the switch until the briquette sparks for a few seconds, then back off and repeat to 3-4 (or more depending on the quantity of food) other briquettes. Then closely pile other briquettes around and on top of your burning starters. The others will heat up ignite enough that they develop a white ash and you're ready to go. I had a medium sized pile (18-20 briquettes) and it only took 5-8 minutes before I was ready to start cooking.I like this better than the chimney method because it's less time consuming.

My Grilling Husband LOVES!

So honestly I was so confused at first about this because I thought the fire would shoot out but all you do is hold it in the same spot whether it’s on wood or charcoal and pull the trigger. After pulling the trigger for about 60 to 90 seconds whatever you were trying to burn lights up hot enough that the flames will instantly kick in. Once we figure that part out oh my goodness, my husband has been outside grilling daily. He loves to grill anyway but he loves smoking items more but always lighting the fire especially when it’s really cold outside was difficult and frustrating for him. This has solved all of that and I can barely get him to come in the house. Great product very well-made. I hope this review was helpful if so please let me know down below.

No more light fluid and paper

Does it work YES! OK right out the box this giant heat gun looks likes a man's toy. It took about 6 mins and I had a flame. I placed my chimney over the first small flamed and used the gun to create an even burn.My only issue with this fire starter is that there is stand. I would definitely recommend this product.

Works good but it's huge!

Got this to used to get my wood pellets lit up for my pizza oven. I had been using a butane torch lighter. This actually works faster and gets the pellets lit up on fire in about half the time that I did with the butane torch. Also with this I no longer have to buy butane to refill and the lighter. So it's a win-win in both cases. But I was not expecting this thing to be so cute. I just kind of assumed it was smaller and uploaded a photo so you could see what it looks like in my hand.

Great fire starter -- works even better when paired with a chimney starter!

I have a charcoal grill/smoker and used this to start my fire. I've traditionally used a chimney starter -- which works great, but takes about 30 min to get all the coals really going.I used this to light my charcoal in my chimney starter and wow - it is a beast. Took about 2 min to get my charcoal briquets lit and about another 6 min to get them blazing hot ready to cook., so overall it cut my startup time down to less than 10 min when paired with a chimney starter. I can see this working well fine as well if I started the charcoal directly in the BBQ as well, but chimney started makes it quicker because the coals are compacted together much more tightly.I also used it on lump charcoal and it worked just as well, although it took a big longer to get the lump charcoal started but that is usually the case with lump charcoal in my experience.Comes with some instructions for proper use but for those unfamiliar with starting fires, you want to hold this up the the charcoal/wood and blast it as close as you can for the first 1-2 min (until whatever you are lighting starts glowing). Once your fuel is lit, you want to back up about 6-12 inches and let the blower part do it's job to get oxygen into the heat to stoke the flame. Once your coal/wood is lit, the most vital part is airflow and this will help get airflow into the coal to build the fire.Do note that this uses heat AND airflow to start your fire -- so it means that if you are lighting this directly in your bbq/smoker/grill, be sure to clean up the ashes from the previous cook, or you will be blowing around some ash initially. This wasn't an issue for me since I started my coals in the chimney starter and them dumped my coals in.The barrel does get hot after a few min of use, but you don't feel it in the handle and I could still safely hold it at the handle without gloves. After I stopped using it, took about 6 min for the barrel to cool off to be able to touch and safely store the starter away.Overall great alternative to start your fire with and while initially more expensive than lighter fluids/cubes and fire starters initially, this will pay for itself over time and perhaps the only real limitation is that it needs to be plugged in.

Great Fire Starter

What a pain it is to crumple up brown paper bags with alcohol soaked wine corks inside to try to get the logs to ignite. And it doesn't always work so more paper and more corks. This is a great idea. To just blast the wood itself with 1200 degree air and force it to catch fire. We have a large main fireplace and to the side of it is an indoor bbq and small oven. I am most looking forward to using this to light wood on the side of the small oven to bake pizzas. But also to light briquettes for the indoor grill and of course for the main fireplace. Can't wait for it to get colder so i can start the process.

Great electric charcoal starter good for starting fires 👍👍

This electric charcoal starter is great for starting fires on the grill as well as lightning your charcoal for your hookah machine. It has many great benefits to it and keeps you from actually having body harm or getting burnt or anything like that while trying to start a fire on your grill 👍👍👌👌

Work great, and inexpensive

I purchased this because it was the cheapest option I could find for these blower air-lighters. It just works, although the cord is a bit short.
